Cloud hosting and shared hosting have different strengths.

Shared hosting is the default option for small sites with little to medium traffic flow—like personal blogs or reference guides.

But there are drawbacks to shared hosting. Since all the sites on the server are competing for resources, if one of them has a spike in traffic, it could affect the rest of the sites on the server. That means your site could slow down or crash. And while cheaper, shared hosting is also less secure. If one website is hacked, the next course of action is to attack the rest of the sites on that same server.

Cloud hosting is designed to handle high volumes of traffic more efficiently than shared hosting. Also, because the sites are running on a virtual instance, scalability isn’t an issue, and resources can be scaled at any point.

Cloud server hosting is ideal for high-performance, secure, and scalable sites, including low-traffic sites with heavy computational tasks or custom setups.
